Guild wars... EDIT?

Question

i asked earlier which campaign i should choose for guild wars, Prophecies, Factions, or Nightfall.... but i forgot to say i have all three...


so it doesnt matter that i need to buy prophecies anyway... i was just wondering that since i have all three...

which one is more fun for like pvE stuff?


obviously not factions...


so i guess it really boils down to Prophecies or Nightfall.

also, which type of char. should i play? i was thinking Elementalist/Necromancer...

Nightfall bar none! Although....E of the North is REALLY good too!

I disagree with the previous poster about Necromancers....I have a Ranger / Necro and she rocks....She's her own little army! Add the pet and numerous bone minions, horrors etc and you become a pretty formidable char.

Also...if you own all 3, you can switch from campaign to campaign with a character however, I'd start with Nightfall due to the ability to create your own heroes. Once you've done this they'll carry over to Proph and factions...They are WAY better than henchies....

For ease of PvE, Nightfall is better. Prophecies has longer and more involved campaign, but Nightfall's heroes are great! Maybe you should start in Nightfall and move over to Prophecies, or start in Prophecies and go to Nightfall long enough to get heroes then go back to Prophecies.

As for characters...Try them all! E/N is a pretty decent combination though. Use N hexes and curses to lay out some damage over time, then switch to direct attacks from E while the N effects are doing their thing. Just remember not to split your focus to far. Generalists don't usually do a good job. Stick to three to four attributes and select skills to match.

PS in my opinion elementalist make bad secondaries. Elementalist skills are priced to be moderately expensive if you have points in energy storage, the elementalist's exclusive attribute. Without energy storage, E spells are REALLY expensive.

I'm not very interested in PvP myself (I haven't ascended yet so bah!) But I HIGHLY suggest you do ANYTHING BUT necromancer as a secondary! There are a lot of them out there, but (in my opinion) they, like rangers, are BEST when chosen as the 'only' profession; in other words, I suggest you make a necromancer, then ONLY use the necromancer skills and attributes, completely ignoring your second profession. Elementalists are great with secondary professions, but necromancer as a second is not a very good idea. Monk is probably THE best choice as a secondary for Elementist, only because it wouldn't demand SO much more attribute points. Thats just my opinion, but necros are better when at their full potential, and when you're choosing to have 2 professions, you are choosing to 'hold back' on both of the professions, especially when they do not complement each other.
