We were at my husbands christmas party and where talking with a mangaer (not my husbands manger just another one that works at the company.) Dont ask me how but some how while talking it got brought up that we needed to change phone plans because I always go over my minutes each month. The guy had the nerve to tell my husband that if he ever wanted to be behind the desk like him that he had better get control of his family because "A man that can't control his family , cant control a team of 15 other people" He said that his wife "knew better" than to do something like that. I kinda just laughed it off but he told me "If you were my wife you wouldnt still be laughing as I busted your butt" while he made a spanking motion. PLEASE tell me he wasnt being serious. Does this guy asctually spank his wife??? I dont want my husband getting any ideas.

He could have been joking.....but perhaps he was serious and he is abusive to his wife.....either way I think he was way out of line for staying such a thing....

Hi,
Dont worry whether he was serious or whether he spanks his wife. As long as your husband does not do that to you, why yout should care what he does? Just shrug any thought of him or that incident that as some blabber by someone got drunk a bit. He was anyway out of decent limits to talk to you or talk about you like that. Do you think your husband will get ideas from such an indecent fellow? I am sure your husband must be much more of a gentleman because you did not mention anything about whether he reacted in any bad way during that party. Be happy. and dont worry..
Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year to You and Husband..

Wow that guy is really psycho. I think he was joking along with the truth. I think he was kidding about the spanking thing but about the control thing I think he was serious. I doubt your husband would start hitting you out of nowhere. And if that's what it took to get "behind the desk" I'm sure your husband would rather be where he is than put his family through hell.

Wow! I hope the other managers, especially your husbands, are such, uh, aperatures by which we defecate.

It is possible for him to put in bad words on your husband, which I hope the rest of management ignores.

Yeah, he sounded serious.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn he did hit his wife, but there's nothing you can do about that.

If you have reason to think your husband would actually hit you (this isn't like a cold one catches from another), then get out. If he's not a complete, uh aperature ..., then I see no reason to worry about it.

He is joking he has a bad sense of humor though. He has a dry sense of humor his jokes come across as insults even my husband is the same way it is so embarassing because these people aren't even funny but to themselves. My husband use to go around the store calling his daughter ugly of course he thinks she is georgous he would wait for people to laugh but they always looked horrified and tryed to get away but he was always kidding believe me i know all about this trust me he is joking. Be glad your not married to a man like that.

This guy sounds warped tell your husband what this guy said and ask your hubby if he has been discussing your personal crap with work colleagues that is just wrong. I think this guy may have had a bit to much of the vino.

Creep - sounds like he was trying to make himself look more important than he actually is but in a jokey way so as to appear like a 'laugh a minute man'.

I have to say not my type, they always creep out of their little holes at Christmas parties, thankfully we don't have to put up with them all year round.

(His wife has probably got him well and truly under her thumb!).

Hard to say but play the role. Nothing to loose. Some how let him know that your husband took care of it . or he can fit it in some how. there might of been some truth and some kidding but he was thinking.

the guy sounds like an @ss, but maybe he was drinking and it had gotten a bit out of hand by the time he talked to you?

nevertheless, his words were not only rude, but definitely out of line. I would have expected my husband to have put this jerk in his place.

The guy sounds like a tosser and to be honest your hubby will have felt as embarrassed as you porbably. Was he drunk?? Either way the best way forward is to say to your hubby, 'what a jerk, if you ever acted like that we would have never got married.' at least you sublimaly tell him what you think.
