Not at all, 64bit CPUs will still run 32 software just make sure your motherboard is compatible with that processor! But if you do decide to run a 64bit OS...you may not be able to run many 32 bit software options! the advantage of havin a 64bit os is it takes advantage of the 64bit architecture....and u dont have the 4GB limit of RAM you can have if ur running a 32bit Windows OS!...just make sure if u do go that route everything is compatable!....an please excuse my horrid spelling skills :D lol

no you do not have to run a 64 bit OS but While some 64-bit machines can process both 64-bit and 32-bit instructions, and translators exist to convert 32-bit programs to slow but functional 64-bit programs, a 64-bit machine needs a 64-bit operating system and 64-bit applications to deliver optimum results. 64-bit operating systems run only on 64-bit machines. Therefore, it is preferable that all parts of the technology should emerge at the same time so that one doesn’t act as a drag on the other. if you dont play games ubuntu 64 bit is free and easyer to use then windows just go to http://www.ubuntu.com/ by the way that cpu is cheeper at newegg.com

No, the AMD 64 processors can sit at a 32 bit os, but if you want to jump to a 64 bit os, this one can do it. This basically was the transition processor because it could run both.

No. Something to bear in mind is that, althou you plan on running a 32bit OS you will still need a motherboard that supports a 64bit cpu. Not all of them do:
