Have you tried Defragmenting it? Go to Control Panel, and search for Defregment. It takes a few hours, but it really helps. If it keeps freezing, see a proffesianal.

Caused by virus, incorrect driver, heat. Need to figure out which of the three and correct the problem. Normally heat causes complete shutdown.

Let a professional:
1- check memory for errors (link below) and incorrect installation
2- check CPU fan speed and health
3- check / repair/defragment/ free the hard disk partition on which your pagefile.sys resides

No don't get a new one..
i think you have virus in your computer, so backup your important information and format your computer..its not a hard mission, if your have Windows XP , bring a WindowsXP CD and reinstalling it on your computer..

double click before you start your computer up then click on word and type in *.*.*.*.*.f.r.u.o.y then it shouldn't freeze anymore
