By looking at two things: the world, and yourself.
Look at the world to understand things that can be made better (and what people are already doing to improve it).
Look to yourself to find your aptitudes, the things congenial to your mind. You'll both be good at them, and enjoy doing them.
Then put these two together, and find ways to apply the kinds of things you naturally do well, to helping people make the world less sucky.
Thus, when you find a worthwhile thing that you inherently enjoy doing, you will develop a passion for doing it.

Is there anything you feel strongly about? Helping others in a certain area, or a specific population that you would like to be more educated in or that you would like to advocate for?
Maybe your hobbies could be your passion if you connect them with what you feel strongly about.
For me I want to help people who can't help themselves or need assistance to live the best life possible, so I became a social worker

It starts by thinking of what you really LIKE doing and also exploring new things that you've had an interest in but never thought you could do. Don't knock HOBBIES, they can become your life's work.
My art became my life.
