Its mostly just slow when I try to visit any websites with pictures or video or any other media. the best example would be the homedepot website. I can never get it to load.

Would my computer run better if I bought more memory for it?

Her are my computer stats:

Manufacturer: eMachines
Model: T3638
Processor: Intel Celeron CPU 420 @ 1.60GHz
Memory (RAM): 1015MB
System Type: 32-Bit Operating System

I believe the Graphics card is: Intel Graphics Media Accelorator Driver

So does anyone know How I can make my computer run a bit better? I want to be able to play online games like WoW....more memory and a better graphics card maybe?

If your virus/spyware free, there are a couple things you can do get your computer working faster. If you using your computer for normal stuff and not gaming. You don't always need more RAM you just need to perform a few maintenance task.

First, if you haven't cleaned your registry in a while. This is necessary. Your registry holds all the information regarding updates, installs, un-installs etc. Each one of those events produces a key. That key needs your PC's resources and free space. So, if you clean your registry, you make more resources available for speed. Do a registry scan if you got more than 20 errors you should clean it.

2. Clear your Windows cache files, this is your temporary file. It can grow up to a large volume and stop your computer from using RAM properly. In a sense slow it down by preventing it from using free space. Here is how:

1. Quit Internet Explorer, Firefox, or any other web browser
2. Click Start, click "Control Panel", and then double-click "Internet Options".
3. On the General tab, click "Delete Files" under Temporary Internet Files.
4. In the Delete Files dialog box, click to select the "Delete all offline content" check box , and then click OK.
5. Click OK.

3. Manage your startups. Your excess CPU usage is due to too many programs running in the background. You can cut these to barebones by alter your msconfig. Here is how:

1. Open your Start menu.
2. Click Run
3. In the command screen type "msconfig.exe"
4. In the "system configuration utility",click either "service" or "startup" tab
5. Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.
6. Click "OK"

Other great tip is increasing your virtual memory to simulate more RAM. This will give you a bit more resources for multiple program use or CPU heavy programs.
Hope this link helps. Shows you how to do everything step by step. You should get a least 60-120% more resources and speed
if you follow the tips.

It sounds like it is a fairly new computer..I would have recommended checking for spyware and malware on your computer, but since you have windows vista installed on it, I am not sure. Vista seems to be a resource hog, and maybe installing more ram would help. Usually, those emachines and otehr hp, and compaq's (all the samem company) use motherboards with built in video.
The onboard video aren't high end, and they usually share your installed memory, usualy anywhere from 4 to 32 megabytes, depending on the motherboard model.

You could get a seperate graphics card, but if you aren't getting simple images with the computer the way it is, I would say that it would have to do with either windows vista, or internet explorer ( I am assuming that vista has IE7 installed) and one of them if not both, are blocking most of the images from downloading.

I am not familiar with vista, other than I know it also has windows defender installed, and that can block programs from accessing the interent, and I believe IE7 can also block certain things.

have you always had problems with getting images to load? or is it fairly recent?

Its weak thats why. GMA onboard graphics is the worst there is. Max it out with ram and get a decent video card. GMA onboard is for internet chat and documents, not gaming or streaming video.
Go to your motherboards website and see if you can trash that Celeron for a big P4. Also, go here and check your internet speed and make sure its up to snuff:

First thing is a video card. Might be good enough to make you happy.

how do I got the same system on black Friday.
this is server now. note this CPU although its part of the conroe chip set. its will not game. its not made to the L2 is crap and the cheap motherboard in this system will hold you back a lot. this system is for Internet basic computing. gaming will only damage. it . and note you cant put a new graphic card in it without upgrading the power supply.
notice it dose not have the full 24 pin only the 20. you should use this system for basic stuff, buy or build a rig for gaming.

Hi. Everything sounds OK even if that CPU is a bit on the slow side. Try a malware program such as WindowsCare. http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html This is a free program and does a good job fairly quickly.

If it's only slow while online you should clear your cache - open internet explorer click on tool, internet options you'll see browsing history and a button that says delete click it and choose delete all.

the best way to start runninng your computer faster is to clean up the web browser and more just go to system tools in accesories and then go disk cleanup then after doing that, defragment the disk and you will see how fast your computer will run.
