In Troy Ohio they want to paint the jail cells pink as a pacifying measure for the prisoners.

I think I'll paint ALL my inside walls pink to see if it works.

I seriously doubt it would do much to help.

While color may or may not affect mood in some small way, the people normally found in jail cells are "spring loaded to the pissed off position". Most are not there because they had some sort of a mood swing after seeing a green house, they are there because they live in a bad mood and don't mind hurting others.

I just can't imagine a paint scheme of any kind fixing that.

When I keyed for the USPO elbow to elbow with hundreds of others the walls were mauve and green, suppose to be calming colors. Of course we still got brochures twice a year on how not to go postal--what a hoot those were. Paint the cons pink.

I see in Arizona, the prisoners are wearing hot pink shirts.Alot of that is to do with being easier to spot. I think pink would be a good color for male prisoner's cells.

I read about that a few years ago. My former living room was pink, I guess we were pacified. On TV they seem to have jails in yucky green, I don't know if it is true or not

I know color does have a lot to do with "mood"

Yes, I have heard of this, but it has to be a certain shade of pink. Not day-glow, but a muted pink. Also it has been established that playing Mozart is soothing as well. The mind boggles!

Pink reflects Love and inmates of a jail lack it so they need to be induced. So I feel. If it works it is a good thing.

I don't know about that. But you bring up a memory from long ago. I painted our bedroom pink one day. When my husband saw it he told me he would leave if I didn't repaint it. I did repaint it and thus another marriage was saved.

I don't know..... My sister grew up in a room with a pink canopy, pink bedspread and pink shag carpet and she wasn't very happy or pacified.
