Yes it should have an * next to it. Cheaters shouldn't be rewarded.

Undefeated is undefeated. But there are those who will say the season is tainted because of so called cheating. Maybe they are right. If they already had a loss I really dont think any of this would be in question. I mean cheating is cheating, right? Therefore a season record is a season record. So with that in mind a 1 loss season shouldn't change ones opinion, any more than if they go 19-0, right?

For people looking for a way to disparage the season the Pats are having it will.
For the rest of us, no. It's a tit for tat between Mangini and Belichick that was brought out into the public eye. The only breaking of the rules was the location of the camera, as teams have desinated filming points, and it was fined so heavily because the league had handed down a memo at the beginning of the season telling EVERY team to stop filming outside of their boxes. The Pats where simply the first ones caught and made examples of.

This question should be reserved for the purest of football fans. Right now too many part time experts have come crawling out of the wood works to comdemn a team for doing what every other team in all and I do mean ALL of every sports tries to do. Get an upper hand on their opponet by hook or by crook. It is nothing new under the sun, trying to get an upper hand on your opponet. That is the nature of the beast.
Spying is the name of the game. Just don't get caught because you'll have to sport a black eye for the rest of your career.
To answer you, NO. As far as I am concerned the Patriots are by far the best team in all of football for 2007. Cowboys second.

Absolutely not...
They were caught breaking the rules in the first game of the season and had all of their tapes confiscated after that. Since then, they have not "cheated", and have probably been under more scrutiny than any other NFL team this year to see that they don't.
Say what you will about their past seasons, but THIS historic season will not be tainted in any way when they finish 19-0 as a statement to the rest of the NFL, (and country)...

No!
I'm not a Patriot fan but they play the best football.
I don't think they are the best team but the coach and players know how to win and win is what they do.
The spying was a joke almost every team does it one way or another with lip reading etc.

stealing signals has existed as long as sports have used them..being blatant about it is wrong...but every team used to do it and most still do. New England used to have a habit of picking up players off the waiver wire to debrief them of their divisional opponents signals and then let them go. Asterisks should be used for things like this steroid stuff in baseball. If the Pats go undefeated AND win the Super Bowl (still not a guarantee!) they deserve the record. (I'm an old Dolphin fan)

No matter what way you spin it, people will always hate them for Spying. They didnt need to cheat to win and them getting caught cheating didnt mean much of anything, look at thier undefeated season, but people hate the Patriots (me being one of them) and can rely on the cheating thing to reinforce their anger towards them. So they will and no doubt always be known for their cheating and certiainly go down in history for one of the most controversial seasons ever....

Yes , even if they don't go undefeated this seasons record will be tainted and probably earlier seasons because most people will believe that they were always cheating and that this was the first time they got caught and punished . You know the saying ( once a cheat always a cheat ) . I'm not saying that they deserve this or that I agree with it .
It's just the way it is .

No, I think the only people that care about that are those who don't know much about the NFL. It's so similar to "watergate" that they even gave it a name playing off of "watergate". All presidents lie Nixon just got caught just like all NFL teams tape or do something very similar but the Pats were just careless enough to get caught. I hate the Pats but fact is no matter what you still have to execute on the field.

It won't matter because I still say they don't go undefeated, but if they go undefeated in regular season, I can see them losing in play-offs, I don't care how good they are, it will be hard to beat 2 certain teams twice (Steelers & Colts) & let's not count out Jacksonville either.
