There is a blog called "parents behaving badly" which you can find with an internet search. It lists abuse cases by month and provides links to the original news stories a lot of the time. You will get far more than you need for your project if you have a look at this site.

There is a book called A Child Called "It" by a man who was abused as a child. He has another book talking about how he is now.
Dave Pelzer grew up in a typical middle-class suburb. His father was a firefighter. His mother was a homemaker who raised five boys. But Dave was singled out—sadistically beaten, tortured and nearly killed by his own mother.
The Teachers Who Saved His Life
Dave grew up thinking that every family had a bad child who was treated as he was. No one, not even his own family, stood up for him until two young teachers risked their jobs and saved his life.
How to Help Yourself
Dave realized he had to rid himself of feelings of resentment and forgive his mother in order to free himself of her control. Forgiving, not forgetting, can help you live a more fulfilled life. Source(s) The Lost Boy : A Foster Child's Search for the Love of a Family
This is Dave Pelzer's long-awaited sequel to A Child Called "It." The Lost Boy is Pelzer's story—a moving sequel and inspirational read for all.

This is a website of abuse experiences. Esp abuse of a sexual nature. Im not sure which kind (of abuse) you are looking for, so if its not sexual abuse, maybe you can pick up a book called "A child called IT" by Dave Pelzer. He was a survivor of child violence abuse. Really inspirational story.
Good luck.

i agree that Dave Peltzer is a good person to look into, he has written a few books about his child abuse. also, Sybil and Trudy Chase are two people who have experienced horrific child abuse and have written books about it. They both suffered from multiple personality disorders because of it.
