I have a craftsman opener, goes up fine but stops and reverses down. have replaced gears still wont work?

I removed chain motor still stops going down

they should do that going down going up they should just stop ijust baught a new one for $150 last week or you can call out a repairman there are some adjustments that can be made

some have a sensor that detects if something is in its path stopping it from closing on you or any other object in its path
