my week hasn't been normal and my friend knows that. we were go to hang out on Thursday then i had to switch shifts to watch my niece and nephew, who were suppose to come in but didn't. my friend was thinking about hanging out with us but they had another friend who had a Christmas show to put on. i told them last night i felt like i need a day to myself. and they ask if i am trying to be mean and scam them and only need them when i want and that is not true. i have planned a trip with this person whom i have promised not to pull out on. i have already got my requested days off and all. and i plan on going on this trip with this person. did i betray this person and if so how do i apologize if not is this person oversensitive since they have been hurt before in a different situations but similar incident?

I don't think you need to apologize. However, what you really need to look at is would an apology help heal the friendship. Sometimes it's not about who is right or wrong but about maintaining friendships. If giving your friend an apology would make him/her feel better and end a rift in the friendship, isn't it worth it?

The other person in prolly overreacting. Everyone should get time to themselves every once in a while its only fair

Sounds like that friend is a little too needy. I wouldn't apologize, you wanted time to yourself....its not a crime.
