I don't have outdoor lights as we don't have an outside plug socket, but I do have a large porch which I have decorated with lights (inside) etc, I usually turn them on about 5pm and off again when I go to bed.

I always switch them off when I go to bed or if I'm going out-have you seen the deaths caused every year by people constantly leaving their lights on?They can overheat and cause a fire.

It is one of my wife's rituals to put them on when it get's dark, and then to go around the house switching them off just before she goes to bed.

do you people realise that the planet is heating up? don't you think that worrying about your xmas lights is like fiddling when rome burned? don't be sheep, do the opposite to what society pushes you to do. if you sat on mars during the xmas hols, you would think that earth was flashing a signal at you. get a grip earthlings, save the planet for future generations, turn off those lights.

My lights are on a timer. They're on around 5:30pm and off around 10:00pm. Hey....I have to pay for that power, so if people don't see my lights during these times, then tough doo-doo.

I dont have outdoor lites, and i have tons of villages....which are pretty much my source of lighting at Christmas. LOL and i leave them on during the season....
AND i have done so for years and because of the LOW wattage, it uses WAY WAY less electricity...You peeps need to check up on your bill! :)
