Yes, but sometimes all the effort is not going to fully take away any hurt grief or strife. These are all human emotions that are not able to smooth out 100%. All you can do is be there when she asks for the comfort the shoulder to cry on the the one to talk to in the time of need. That is some of the duties of love are.

No, not really. We all have things we need to live through so we can grow. Sometimes those things include pain. Getting through them makes us wiser and stronger. If those around us were to "take away" what would eventually make us wiser and stronger, then we would remain weak. That wouldn't do us any good. Just be supportive, patient and understanding.
