For the most part I do live by the saying "Friends of my friends are friends of mine," but I also live by the maxim "Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer." I have very few enemies (can't think of any at the moment), but think it is good advice to keep a close eye on those who might wish you ill.

I've never heard that saying, but it's a good idea. If I like my friends, chances are I would like their other friends as well. I always try to treat my friends' friends nicely and with respect. Some of the closest friends I have now are people I met through other friends.

I cannot believe the number of people that haven't heard of this.
i think that if they are friends of my friends then they must have some redeeming qualities, but the truth is, some of my pals have friends I dislike. But I try to get along out of respect for my friends.
