Swan’ is the common gender term, but ‘cob’ for a male and ‘pen’ for a female are also used, as is ‘cygnet’ for the young [1]. I love swans. Do you know the story of the Ugly Duckling? It's about a swan! Swans are indeed dangerous (they can break your arm!), but they are beautiful, graceful and peaceful.

I love them, but they aren't my favorite animals. I love all animals, except for those that are poisonious. I wouldn't know how swans are like because I never took care of one.

They taste better than goose and not as dry as turkey .. go nicely with roast potatoes, nice thick gravy and fresh minted peas
