Sounds more masculine than feminine in my opinion.

The full name is Maria del Rosario (Mary of the rosary) as is often the case with old Spanish names. It is old-fashioned and religious. Would be hard to carry for a little girl.

In the country where I live, it is a common last name. It can also be a given name, but it's not that appealing anymore. The Rosario's I know are mostly women in their 60-80s.

Personally I like it. It's Spanish for "Rosary." It's also a common last name. My only caution is that as it is unusual that always leads to teasing "Hey, Rosie," etc. and if someone's a bit smarter and still has no morals, he will be teased about being a "rose" and "meant to be a priest," etc. So as long as you don't have anything against Catholicism and will tell your son to be proud of his name and not feel the need to cry or pound someone tormenting him for an unusual first name, go for it.

It is a nice name but the thing that instantly springs to mind is that maid from Will & Grace, the TV show.

I think it is spanish

Don't let that put you off though. There will always be a bad side to a name.
