A Government think tank The New Economics Foundation has said "Nintendo WII consoles are more responsible for Global warming than 180,000 flights to New York. But that is not the best bit. Their advice is this For Christmas don't give gifts give personal time instead to cut Carbon Emissions.
To me this is just the most rediculous thing i have ever heard and more scare mongering by this Politically Corrupt i mean Correct Government to have Christmas banned to please the Extreme Racial Equality idiots.
Your Opinions please.

Shambo it seems to me they are using carbon emissions as an excuse to not buy Christmas pressies and to basically tone down Xmas.
Next it will be don't send Xmas cards because of their Carbon Footprint.

Dark Fairy with all the stupidity about dumbing down Xmas to not offend certain minorities. No decorations on the high street in many towns, or no decorations in offices so nobody is offended is there any wonder why im suspicious about it.
You should look a little bit harder as it's in the papers today.

And i never said THEY said to ban Xmas i said it was the governments way of toning it down because one of their thinktanks are saying Xmas is bad for Carbon emissions so i'd suggest reading Questions properly before answering them.

Global warming is just another way of controlling us. Millions of years ago, Britain was tropical. Later on, it was freezing (Ice Age). Now it's temperate.
The planet moves in cycles and it it repairs itself. It always has and it always will. It just does.
Meanwhile, governments all over the world are taxing their populations, including new taxes to 'help' the environment. Kindly tell me what has been done in the UK with all this tax revenue in order to 'help' the environment?
Nothing. Councils have bought wheelie bins. Useless. More petrol-guzzling rubbish lorries. Created more departments and employed new staff to 'deal' with the 'problem'.
The only problem we have comes from the taxes.
We had floods last year. So what? We had them in 1952. We had terrible freezes in the winters of 1947/48 and in 1962/63. The world did not come to an end. We had blazing hot summers in 1953, 1959, 1964, 1966, 1969, etc, etc.
Putting rubbish into landfill sites is 'bad' - no it isn't! We've been doing it here for over 100 years and everything is hunky-dory. No-one has died as a result. In fact, the land is later put to good use.
I agree that we should not deliberately harm the environment - but that's just common sense. But as for the world being 'in peril' it's a red herring to cover up the collection of all sorts of new taxes.

I think they are going on the basis that there are a lot more games consoles that need power and power is mostly produced by burning fossil fuels such as oil so they do contribute to the emissions in that way.
I don't think they will stop people buying such things anyway, I tell you the look I get when I give my usual presents of a book are a drawing pad. I tell you its the look you would not want to see on the face of a Tyrant and my word the children do give that real angry look.

They see the president and all the president's men playing on the Nintendo and automatically assume their tactics at the global warming summits stem from this. How about holding Amy Whinehouse responsible for the USA always saying 'no,no,no' to any suggestions that there should be a way forward for tackling global warming and its effects?

Global Warming is he next space race, something the governments can spend loads and loads of money on, most people dont understand, yet everyone has a strong opinion about and you can get votes and tax payers money by playing this card..

They are and have been for awhile using anything they can as an excuse to ban Christmas !! They are nuts. Do they really think they can ban OUR Christmas ?
Someone is at war with Christians, you know ???? LOL
I will always celebrate OUR Christmas, I will always wish all my fellow Christians a Merry Christmas at Christmas and whoever feels offended by that, or PRETENDS to feel offended with that can get...... get..... get lost, basically. PATHETIC !!!!
A very dear friend of mine from the USA tells me that in local department stores thwe words MERRY CHRISTMAS have been banned from shop windows and shelves and the staff are forbidden to use the words MERRY CHRISTMAS to customers and call it instead December festivities ? To e it will be always

Well there you go. At the Bali Climate Summit, they have agreed a road map for more talks in the future. A rather expensive holiday at tax payers expense ( with an extra day added) just to agree on talks in the future. How much carbon did that omit? Bring on the Wii.

Lefties, will find any way/means to attack religion, including Christmas, because, quite simply, they don't believe in it. That's what happened in Communist Russia/China. They only have one religion, which is, 'there left wing ideology'.
In the meantime, however, global warming can be used to control all manner of things that they don't approve of, eg. The Capitalist system itself, democracy, religion and so on.

I was going to answer, but then I thought, no, that's just too stupid. Doesn't matter what religion, race or colour a person is, we've only got one world and if you light up the town for Christmas or Diwali it's still using unnecessary energy!
So I did answer in the end!

Hmm, I'm wondering if there is a carbon footprint calculation for the collection of my taxes? I wouldn't like to add to global warming in any way, so, if it reduces my footprint, I'll gladly withhold payment of my taxes, for the sake of the planet, of course.

It's now widely accepted that modern PC's use a lot of electricity when they're being used. So why not games consoles too? Just think how many of them there are in the world and how much power they and the TV they're being watched on are using.
I would have an issue with them saying the Nintendo Wii however, as it purportedly uses a paltry 17W when in use. The Xbox 360 uses 165W and the Playstation 3 uses a staggering 380W though.
