I put in my bid for some of those on TVLand, but nothing yet. Probably has to do with copyrights, etc.. I liked the Jimmy Dean show, and the dog "Rowlf". He cracked me up. Red Skelton was the master clown, though. I still listen to his radio shows on old time radio on the internet. His ad-libs were the funniest part.
I really would love to see them again. At least every other word wasn't bleeped. It's a shame what passes as comedy and drama nowadays.
There is some clean standup comedy on the Angel channel (Dish). It's probably on cable too. It's on Friday nights, but can't remember the time.
And Johnny Carson. I laughed until I cried just watching his reactions. I have some tapes of his show's highlights. Nobody on late night has come close to him yet.

Oh, we loved the Jackie Gleason Show! Watching the June Taylor Dancers make their kaleidoscope patterns on the floor, Jackie behind the bar with Crazy Guggenheim, Honeymooners skits, "and awaaayyy we go!". I wish I could do that little skip step he did. The Honeymooners still crack me up. Gleason was brilliant with his physical reactions. You expected him to just explode!

My hubby loved Jackie Gleason and remembers many of the episodes. I am a few years younger and I remember The Andy Williams Show. What I miss most about older t.v. shows is the regulated time for show vs. number of comercials in an hour. Now those regulations have been lifted and it seems that shows are shorter, with more comercial interruptions...argh!

I liked the Honeymooners. Jackie Gleason was perfect in that part. You can buy DVDs with those old shows on them. If you can't find them at local stores then try EBay.

WOW! They sure do not have the tv shows like they used to be! Our children have NO idea what a good program is,do they? Every once in awhile you can watch some of the old programs on the Turner channel or on AMC.
Some of them may be playing now.

Talk about memories !!! I loved all the musical variety shows, music that everyone in the family knew and could listen to togeather. PBS just had thier fundraiser and one night they ran reruns of several of them, so many stars got started on these shows. Or at least national exposure that really set them up for fame. Or course I miss sitting to geather as a family watching anything on TV. we weren't all off in seperate rooms watching differant shows.
