What do you have to light up your tree this year?

My tree has a few strands of white and a few of blue.

Oh I LOVE white lights on my tree. Dressing it with traditional ornaments makes it look even prettier!

I put 1200 white lights on our tree. Can't stand the colored ones.... The white looks so pretty when you have the lights off in the house. I love to sit and look at our tree and all the ornaments on it- the white lights make it look so soft and pretty. Here's a question for you.... Do you string lights from the bottom up or top down?

My tree has fiber optics and a color wheel, so that the colors are constantly changed as the wheel rotates. No hassle with burn-out bulbs and trying to get all the strings piggy-backed onto an extension cord.

But my true favorite bulbs are either those big, old-fashioned colored bulbs or else multi-colored bubble lights. We had both of them when I was growing up, so seeing them is a real nostalgia trip for me.

your lights should compliment your tree.
if your hanging random ornaments with varying colours you should use multi coloured lights.
if your sticking to a theme, ex. all blue, or blue and silver, use white lights.
basically, the rule is: if theres lots of colours on your tree already, keep the lights colourful too. if there are a only a few colours, keep the lights white so your selected ornament colours arent overshadowed by loads of garish lights

Multi Color strings inside on the tree and one the little evergreen by the front door. To me the multi color strings are christmas-that is what I grew up with and like. The solid colors are nice but they just seem a little bit more formal to me. It's a kids holiday so at our house-it's gotta be multi colors:)

My tree is all mutlicolored.

I like the colored lights better. Apparently everyone else in my neighborhood likes white. That's all there is !

We have done the blue/purple lights (gee, what that a pain to do!!! sounded good in theory, but changing all those lights I felt like a robot doing it) But they look great on our live Italian Stone Pine tree.......

it depends on what you decorate you tree with I think.
mine is decorated in gold, so I only used white lights this year
I used white with purple/silver last year
but if I was using many or traditional christmas colours such as red, gold, blue and green....then I would use a strand of multi colours to match

warm colours with multi
cool colours with white

White lights, or all blue lights, either of them are the best.
