I have a candle snuff (something that blows out candles without blowing) but all the melted wax from the candle has got on the rims of the snuff and solidified. Is there any way to get the wax off easily?

The problem with any hot water approach is that the wax will then harden somewhere else, like in your sink, or on the inside of your bowl or pan. I would try carefully warming it over the stove and wiping with a paper towel.

Dip it in a pan of boiling water. The wax will melt and float to the surface. Don't pour the wax down the drain. It will solidify and could clog the pipes.

most wax will dissolve in turpentine or turpentine substitute. White spirit will also work but more slowly.
