I wouldn't want someone like that representing my business. There aren't enough freaks like that to shop in my business to make me money. There might only be 10 tattood and pierced freaks in my town and they couldn't spend enough money at my business to keep it profitable. Yea, the 10 freaks may like comming in my store because I employ one of them but the other 200,000 people that aren't tattood and pierced might be offended and not come in. If I lived in a town with 200,000 tattood and pierced freaks and a freak with no tattoos or piercings wanted a job I wouldn't hire him because I want to make money. What if the tattood and pierced freaks got offended by me hiring a non tattood and pierced freak and didn't shop at my business, I'd be screwed. Get it?

I AM one of those people. Of course I would hire others like myself, assuming they had all of the desirable qualities that every employer looks for.
I have found that many of the adults who are pierced and tattooed can be excellent sales people. Most of them also have a knack for working with customers as they answer rude questions just about every time they are out in public. If I met a grown man who was covered in well selected tattoos I would consider him to be someone who knows what he wants and a person who is able to accept consequences. Would I hire a 17 year old who was decorated the same way? It would have to be a very impressive teenager.
Most people going on vacation wouldn't mind someone with tattoos/piercings helping them select a fun destination. Folks who are looking for a rental car are not likely to turn tail and run out the door just because the clerk is unusually decorated. People as a majority are curious about body modification. I get hundreds of questions a week about my piercings, and probaby only a few comments a month that someone doesn't like it. Of course I'm not hearing all of peoples' thoughts, BUT most are so pleasantly surprised by how nice I am about it that their opinions go from "Oh that's horrible" to "Well, I guess that's alright for some people."
I'm 23 years old. I have five years experience living on the inside of one of those pierced faces.

To be honest with you, no. But, I would reconsider my answer if I knew the demographics of the business. I'm a professional so I would not hire an employee whom you've described if the business were in a more professional environment. However, if the business was placed in a predominately theme based area, (such as artisan) I would consider it.
I'm 31.
I agree with MamiZ's assessment of character. Unfortunately, we are talking about a business owner's profits (I deal with investments and profitablity) so that's the direction I always look. As a business owner, I would be looking for an employee that would induce people to seek what my business has to offer.

I think it doesn't matter how they look, so long as they possess a pleasant disposition, responsible and strong work ethics.
I guess the more conservative ones would rather stick to the conventional, safe types who looks "normal", because they might feel that the tattooed/pierced ones would jeopardize their business.
I am a youth. :)

Yes i would
i would give them the benefit of the doubt and a 3 month trial just like every one else, just because you look strange does not mean your a freak, if they dress presentable and are polite then they get the job: simple

I'm 30 and hope to have my own little home-cookin restaurant someday. Absolutely I would. I have SOME tattoos and my tongue pierced(but my ink is covered up by my clothes most of the time)...so what would I look like discriminating?
Besides, body modification does not the content of one's character make.

i am 30 and i don't think personal appearance makes the man. i also don't own a business.
i am tattoo'd and pierced, not to the extreme that you mentioned, but enough. it has hindered me, but i figure if they don't want me for the job based on piercings and tattoos, then the job is too uptight for me anyway.
