I'm going to a Christmas party and we're going to be doing a random gift exchange where you pull some one's name out of a basket and give them your gift. And it's supposed to be under $10. So, does anyone have ideas for cheap gifts that both guys and girls will like?

I like electronics. The gummies headphones/ ear buds come in bright colors. CD's, books.

If you live someplace that is cold--
Scarves or those 180 earmuffs are great

Coffee, hot chocolate, or tea with two mugs. Make your own gift basket with different chocolate. Do you have a World Market near you? They have chocolate from around the world.

For adults, kitchen items are great too. The silicone bake ware is all the rage and comes in so many great colors.

Travel items--Target has a huge selection of luggage tags, TSA approved locks, small bottles to fill with your liquids--for very reasonable prices.

Maybe do like a puzzles theme with Sodoku and word search books. Dollar Stores have those! Or depending on the age of the people blank CDS are always great. You could even do soemthing like a little snack pack! Get some treats and package them nicley and wrap. Food can never be a bad thing!

To Sal and Steffi- I am 22 and grew up with computers and my nintendo, gameboy, sega genesis, and playstation2. I was an avid gamer then and I am an avid gamer now. I fell in love with technology when I was five and am now a designer. Computers and console games do not have a detrimental effect on today's kids. Notice how people of my generation are a bit smarter and technologically savvy than people from our parents generation? We are able to see things quicker and solve problems faster. Computers and games taught us that. Nooka - excellent choice in getting your girl a DS for christmas. There are tons of games out there for kids her age that are educational and teach problem solving. Nintendogs is great at teaching responsibility. Zoo Tycoon is also kinda like that. She can start her own zoo, learn how to manage it and take care of the animals. Disney games are really good with teaching problem solving. Also there are various "brain games" out there for the ds like Brain Age and Big Brain Academy. Pokemon Diamond/Pearl is also great for little kids... helps with organizational skills and strategy. Pokemon can be a bit addicting though. I suggest going to your neighborhood GameStop or EB Games and asking one of the employees there. They know everything there is to know about games of all platforms and what age groups/genders they are best for.

John Lennon - Happy Xmas (War Is Over)

Happy Xmas

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you'll have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very Merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And, so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong
And so happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight

A very Merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Christmas
And what have we done
Another year over
A new one just begun
And, so happy Christmas
We hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very Merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
War is over, if you want it
War is over, now

Happy Christmas
