After just losing my dad in September this has happened a lot more recently my friend. I am determined to make some positive changes in my life because of it and I know this will give me the motivation I need. It's tough with everything going on at Christmas, but I can see a definite change in my attitude ... a more positive and hopeful one.
It's resolution time again and I think this is another reason this comes to mind more at this time of year. A new year brings the hope that this year will be better than the last ... and that we can be the ones to make sure that happens.
My dad was only 61 as you know ... that was way to young to die and now I am determined to take better care of myself so that my son has me around a lot longer. This is our only shot ... we've got to get it right ... be more loving and less hateful ... more hopeful and less hopeless ... more forgiving and less accusatory ... more kind and less hurtful ... more faithful less bitter ... more trustworthy less untrusting ... these are the choices only we can make ... and its up to us to get it right.
Today IS going to be different Mrs. GEM ... and so is tomorrow, next week, and all of next year. Because my attitude is my choice ... I can choose it to be so ... and I am going to do exactly that!

Good morning GEM. I have awaken to a feeling that I would accomplish a lot and that this day was going to be really special. I know it's special, because I am answering your question! I know, flattery will get you nowhere! I hope it is a good one for you and your family. If you have to get out and face the crowds, have courage and perseverance. Yesterday I went to town and I got stuck in major traffic. There was a water main that broke on Route 3 near the mall. What a time for a water main break! I think it took me an hour just to get out of Walmart.

I am not sure if this is quite the same thing....but I always say that if I even had a penny for every time I have said "today is the first day of the rest of my life", I would be a rich man by now. Or maybe I've remembered that wrongly....maybe it's usually "tomorrow" rather than "today".....lol

Not really.
Although, I had a dream that everyone was being kind to eachother and there was no more war, fighting, murders Etc..
Then i woke up and thought
"why cant the world be like this"

Slowly but surely I'm starting to think that more and more when I wake up. 2007 has been one of my hardest years, and I have learned a lot, but things are finally looking up. I like how one of the previous posters said "attitude" is her choice. That really hits home with me!!
