hi...i'm a current associate at walmart...and i hate my job...not because of the customers but because of the managers, and supervisors, etc....

today, i was just talking to another associate for like 2 mins while doing my work and my asst. manager comes up to me and says, that instead of talking, we needed to get working....i was like huh....what do u thinking i'm doing ??? the department didn't exactly clean itself up, u know....now obviously i didn't say that to him....cuz i didn't want to get fired, but i was thinking that....lol....anyways, i don't even get paid much....i'm a part time student, and part time walmart employee, i started at $7.95 per hour, and now its $8.35 per hour....how the hell do u live off that pay in California ???

walmart's the devil, i tell u...

and the managers keep telling all the associates to go work at the cash registers when there's lots of customers....hello, if i wanted to be a cashier, i would have applied for that position...

and the cashiers get paid more than the sales associates....how is that fair for the sales associates when they have to work at the registers too....

our walmart management hired less people on purpose because they now plan on using the sales associates to do all the work....for example, they hired less cashiers this year because they can just use the associates, without having to pay them the higher salary that they pay the cashiers....u get my point...and we can't even sue walmart cuz of this because walmart calls this "teamwork"

walmart represents everything that is wrong with this country. companies like walmart are putting all the small businesses in the area they are in out of business. mom & pop shops can't really compete with corporate giants with their importation of cheap goods from china as far as pricing cuz they won't make any profit. in other words, this corporate monopoly is making it harder and harder to be a middle-class small business owner.

but walmart is like the worst of the worst because it's a greedy anti-union company that has been proven many a time to try to make a profit using its own employees health benefits. especially 1 disturbing case where they had taken out life insurance policies on their employees and made walmart the beneficiary! the insurance program at walmart is a fraud and intended to discriminate against whole groups of people & take advantage of the public welfare/medicaid so they don't have to provide those services. a walmart worker could end up paying about 45% of their salary before seeing a single benefit. and they are notorious for hiring mostly part-time/firing employees to ensure a good turn-over, and less benefits. everyone rightfully got on walmart's case after it was statistically shown that their health insurance package managed to effect medicaid and health insurance for THE ENTIRE COUNTRY because of all the people who work there who received welfare, food stamps and public health care.

walmart also uses many other tactics to grow and profit at the taxpayer's expense. many, if not most or all, walmart stores are built with bonds that are issued by the local community. in other words you get to pay for it to be built!! and they pay no property taxes. and unfortunately many competitors have had to follow the model to keep up.

I used to like the regular walmarts, but like you said there are never any sales, and prices are getting ridiculous and in the Outdoor Rec section they are complete idiots, more than once my dad had to correct them. Most of the time employees act like we are wasting their time. My little cousin (who was like 2) has been spit on by other little kids Parking sucks I do still like the super Walmart because that's the only place we can get paper thin steaks for Carina sada and they have a better selection of make up. 80% of our shopping is done at Fred Meyers, we also shop at a PNW grocery store Haggen they are so much more friendly

You know getting really tired of people complaining about having to work at Wal Mart they don't get paid enough, bad benefits, so on so on. The truth is no one is holding a gun to you, go find a different job.

Then this garbage of running mom & pop stores out of business, they were a small store when they started out, but they played their cards right, and grew with the times.

I am sure no deal was made with the devil. Just had good business sense

Unfortunately I have to shop at Wal-mart because it is the ONLY retail shop here. I went to the optical department for glasses and they didn't get my prescription right. I took they back and they said they sent them back. A week later I picked them back up. I told her it wasn't any better and I still couldn't see with them. The lady yelled at me that I was costing them money and they wouldn't do any further repairs. Then one other time I fell by slipping in some bath bubbles on the floor. The Manager told me at that time they would pay for my hospital bill. I submitted the bill and it never got paid. it went to a collection agency and on my credit report. WAL-MART HAS GONE TOO CORPORATE SINCE RAY WALTON DIED!!!!!!! Ray would buy American but they have now gone China.

I have a friend who is a manager in a department at Walmart. He hates his job, & is desparately searching for something else. He's always telling me bad things about how the workers there are treated, & how much is expected of them with no respect. He says they don't care at all about the employees, you're just a number. If you're as unhappy as he is, I'd be on the lookout for something else.

Move to a state that is non-union the cost of living is much much cheaper... or work for a company that is union if you must live in a union state.

However working for a non-union company in a union state is asking for trouble. Non-unions pay less and the rest of the unions in the state will drive up the cost of living.

Is that why Wal-Mart clerks are so grumpy? And the lines are so long?
I usually stand in a Wal-Mart line for 20-30 minutes. Maybe they need more clerks.

I've been to walmart once and am still recovering. Hate the place. Hate the service, hate that they screw mom and dad businesses over.

So it's not WalMart you should hate, it's the people there. I mean, it's like saying that EVERY person that works at ANY WalMart is like that, but they're not.....so you can't say you hate the store itself.

I like WalMart.
