There isn't much of a price drop in Harley Davidsons. For $9k, you would have to find a stripped down Dyna. Check local dealerships for consignment bikes or check out cycletrader.com, ebay motors, or craigslist.

IMHO I wouldn't buy a bike off of the internet unless you could actually go there and try it out first.

independent shops tend to be a bit cheaper then dealers. bulletin boards at dealers sometimes have used bikes. let other riders know what your looking for. You really want to find a bike before they trade it in to a dealer on a newer one, because the dealer has to mark it up before they make a profit. if the bike has accessories you like its a plus, but if not they aren't worth more then .50 cents on the dollar or so. A freind of mine found his on a bulletin board at the grocery store. a woman owned it and would rather ride with her husband then ride, so he got a great deal. Good luck!

Harleys have not gotten down in price. So will be hard find one unless stripped down for that price range. Suggest go to www.harley-davidson.com then enter your zip and will locate nearest dealer who has one.

a superglide or a wide glide? that's not enough money to get a decent wide glide, but a base fxd you should find lots of choices. even on harley's website, www.harleydavidson.com, you can search for used bikes by family... just search our your fxd/fxdl and you'll find lots in your range
