If they're religious, aren't they postponing heaven or are they just lucky to be alive?

Everyone who is born will die.

We fool ourselves into believing that it matters if it is today or next week when it happens.

Love and blessings Don

I survived an accident when I was 16. A truck totaled the car I was in. I was lucky to survive and I believe in God but I don't think I'm postponing Heaven in any way. I also don't think the way some others think "that it wasn't my time" because no such thing exists. Or that it was destinity and I'm meant to live. I was just lucky, there is nothing deep about that.

I think that luck has nothing to do with it although some explain it with that word.

This is when I bring out the following explanations;

1. It was not your time. It happens. There is no explanation.
We came into this world, we have a program, this person has a different program end.
2. Maybe there are some more roles for you to play in, some lives to touch.
3. How you survived the accident - that will teach others.
4. Some angel pulled you out of the danger, answering the prayers of somemone who loves you.
5. You were supposed to forever remind whoever caused this accident of his carelessness or callous behavior.

Not as lucky as someone who didn't have a terrible accident.

If the person was lucky....why did they get in the accident in the 1st place?

Sometimes I think they are lucky and other times I think it is fate and last but not least I think that their number is not up yet even though I do not know who or what is keeping track of your number.

Survivers of an accident have not yet finished their karma. That is why they are alive.

well at the time of my accident I would have gone to hell. I have since turned my life around. I thank God for the second chance. It would not have been fun to be a yard dart.

It would not have been by accident, that situation was destined to happen. This would also reinforce their religious belief of their higher power.

Often times what we consider to be "luck" destroys our lives. Many lotto winners loose everything. You don't quantify "survival"....as a "vegetable", or unable to move?
