I've experienced the opposite, too. That's harder to understand than unexpected thumbs up.

There are times I have expected thumbs down, but gotten best answer instead. That really surprises me. lol
I like it because it shows me others can take somebody else's opinion without being a jerk about it.

confident I do sometimes thumbs up once I see all thumbs down. it is unusual once you spot each and every answer with a thumbs down. Fecking cowards the trolls are, meet em' head to head they'd go crying to mummy!

If someone gives me thumbs down or thumbs up I never take it personal. It is that persons opinion and it gives me an insight into how people view what I say not who I am. I learn from any insight + or -.
Bottom Line: Never take what people say personal They can't change who you are only you can

Of course nobody does, but i never took notice of that..thumbs up or down..I still feel I deserve the points I get for my answer...what is important is the feeling I get after I answer every question...........it is surprising~~~
