Poor people don't drive. But if they are marginally poor it's usually a used car and the car they buy is something they can afford and is fuel efficient - they don't focus on specific brands or makers. Always, one day, if I win the lottery...to live & dream.

It depends on the area as the markets are pretty regional.
In Michigan, we don t have many imports. Travel through the poor neighborhoods and the most common car is probably the early 2000s Chevy Impala.Theres also a number of Buicks, Pontiacs and Ford Tauruses from the late-90s to early-2000s, as well as American minivans of the same age (vans cost a lot new, but tend to lose their value quicker and are often the cheapest vehicles on car lots. In a lot of rural areas, though, they drive large old pickups because they can perform tasks with those trucks that earn extra income.

I don't think poor people can afford to drive- they probably walk or take the bus. If they are not that poor, they might drive an old hoopty. If they are a little better off and can buy a new car (inexpensively) they'd probably buy a Ford Focus or Ranger or a Kia or something.

There is a difference between poor and trashy. Smart poor people drive practical cars and trashy poor people drive pick ups, Hyundais Kias. The more money you make in life the less you care what others think!

Can't say, most poor folk drive whatever is affordable. Probably just the same as you. Are you prejudice against poor people or something? This is a dumb question. What do you drive?

Whatever can be had for cheap. Of course, fuel economy is important, but sometimes it's better to have a $1000 used Pontiac than no car at all.

Kia and Cherry if it's brand new.
And I wouldn't call them poor people... more like middle-class.

Poor people cannot afford a car.
