I live in Los Angeles and I feel that sooner or later the NFL will have to bring a team into the city or grant it an expansion team. Don't mean to sound emotional, but the Coliseum is a great football venue and it would be sad to see it remain permanently neglected. That stadium is a symbol of the city and has such a colorful history that would be like ignoring Yankee Stadium or Grand Central Station in New York. LA City government has worked so hard to bring an NFL team, just what is the problem?

Well my young friend, all the things you said about the Coliseum also held true for "THE FABULOUS FORUM", not the Great Western Forum, "THE FABULOUS FORUM". Do the Lakers or Kings still rock the house in Inglewood, no, its an oversized Church now!

Until the Coliseum is moved further downtown and rebuilt, the NFL will not bring football back to Los Angeles. The Home Depot center is not big enough to make NFL revenues either. This about money and we arent paying. Our city officials expect the NFL to be sold on the fact that this is mearly LA and we need football. All sports organizations know that LA will not support a loser, in any sport, so they have to be real selective when deciding when and who to put in los angeles.

I was in the Navy at Long Beach CA. I remember the Rams and Raider days there it was great. Los Angeles needs to have another team but it must meet standards of the NFL. Almost all the teams now have new stadiums built or being built. Even the Old Yankee Stadium is in its last year and we will have to move to the New Yankee Stadium next year. Build a new stadium in L.A. and I am sure a team will thrive there. Isn`t that why Al Davis left and the Rams left because promises were broken on a new home there.

The Coliseum is a great COLLEGE venue. The problem with the Coliseum is it's huge. Seating capacity right now is about 92,000, which is great for college, but bad for pro (with the NFL requiring you to sell out a game 72 hours before kickoff or it's blacked out on TV). The stadium put $93 million in repairs after the 94 Northridge quake, which fixed the existing problems with the structure, but doesn't make it a good NFL stadium. It would cost another $150-300 million to make it a suitable NFL stadium, and the taxpayers aren't willing to pony-up yet. It is, however, a beautiful and historic landmark and should get a team, in my opinion.

The Coliseum is an old decrepit piece of garbage, sitting in the middle of a ghetto. The LA city govt lied to the Rams and Raiders and as a result lost them both. The only way LA will get an NFL team is to put up a massive amount of money, which they don't have.

Well, coliseum needs some major renovation, cause some section is still damaged from 1994 earth quake.. It has been home to My USC football team, and I really hate see them leave for Rose Bowl and share the stadium with dreaded FUCLA.. I don't understand why the city reject $100 millions offer from USC..
