Computer won't power up and causes the circuit breaker to trip. Power surge component smells burnt.

replace the surger, or plug it into the wall instead of the surger and see if it trips the house breaker or not. You may have too much plugged in to the circuit breaker and it can't handle that much powered on items. try unplug some of the devices and then start your computer.

If the surge protector smells burnt that is obviously the first place to look. Next would be the power supply in the computer. You could have overloaded the surge protector by having too much plugged into it but unlikely since it would normally trip it's own breaker first. Try unplugging everything from it and just plugging it in. You will probably trip the breaker. If not try plugging in one thing at a time, computer printer etc. Plug one in and if it doesn't unplug and try the next. I bet it is the surge protector. In which case it may have damaged something else. Good luck.

Take the burnt out power surge out of the circuit and see what happens.

u can have a bad mother board. or the power unit in your cp need to be replace
