One guy told me it was more of a "moms' name". Do most men immediately think of my name like that?

Names do not necessarily sound attractive or unattractive. Mostly people who like you will like your name. But you have an advantage over most of us, in that you are presumably legally Kathryn (or Katherine or Katharine) or Kathleen. So you can easily change "Kathy" to your full name. Or use "Kate" or "Kay" or "Kat." Kathleen can also become "Lena"; Kathryn can become "Trina." Most names are not so versatile! And of course you can always choose an entirely different nickname which has nothing to do with your actual name. Or use a middle name, if you have one.

But there's absolutely nothing wrong with Kathy if you like it. It's not like you had a name like Osama!

PS How did I forget "Kitty"? I know a Catherine and two Kathleens who use Kitty or Kit as their preferred name. I also know and like several Cathys and Kathys, though; it's a fine name. And except for "C or K" everybody knows how to spell it. So many "modern" names are hard to catch when you are introduced since they are completely unfamiliar.

I've known three Kathy's-- two of them were butch lesbians, and the other was a hag of a housewife on Prozac. Her husband was having an affair with his secretary while she was fronting like she was happy being a stay at home mom and PTA president. So I would say defintely unattractive name.

Universally attractive names would be like William, Alexander, Michael, Jacob, etc... just look at the top names on the Social Security list to get some ideas. Ugly names would include Eugene, Earl, Gaylord, Filmore, Filbert, etc.

Yea, it does sound like a mom's name. I would have to say unattractive. Change it to Kate, now that's attractive.
