i'v tried so many remedies. i feel terrible that she doesn't rest enough, or myself really. someone said to try benedryl to get her on a schedule. i'm not sure about that especially with all the reports lately. i'v tried feeding her a healthy dinner before bedtime, bathing with those sleepytime washes, and even cereal in her bottles, yes she is still on a bottle, trust me it bothers me also. my mother told me i was taking the bottle until almost three! i choked when she told me that. help....

what ever you try and works please let me know.. my daughter is 15 months and still is up all night.. my hubbie works 2nd shift and gets home at 3 am. so she stays up to see and play with daddy.. i have gotten her to fall asleep a few times but she always wakes up like 5-10 minutes before he gets home...i wake her up in the morning with me.. but she falls asleep where ever i put her.... i have tried the crying method and because i have horrible asthme i fear that she will to and i hate to see her cry that hard especially when she starts coughing... so that didnt work for us. tried the baths before bed.. and the food.. giving her heavy meals.. right now its fine because i stay at home with her.. but eventually i want to go back to work and when she does go to school! so i wish you the best! and congrats!

Try Dr Christopher Green's Controlled Crying method. It has a success rate of 90 per cent and it worked for my child.

Start by going in as soon as she wakes and cries. Give brief but reassuring comfort, then leave and let her cry for 2 mins. Then go back in. Each time you go back try to stay a little less time if you have stayed a long time before. If you have stayed a short time to start with, keep it short. After the second visit leave her to cry for 4 mins. Then 6 Keep increasing it. Eventually she should fall asleep. She may wake again. If she does, go in immediately, then leave for 2 mins and go through the same procedure again. Eventually she will go sleep till morning. The following night do the same again. On no account give her a bottle during the night. It's hard work, but stick with it, and the chances are that she will be sleeping through the night after 2 weeks, or 3 if she is a stubborn case. My child only took 1 week. He was only 16 months. The older the child, the shorter the time, supposedly. Good Luck.

America is one of the few countries where it is frowned upon to have your children sleep in the same bed as the parent, but many cultures around the world allow this. If you have no objection, I would let her sleep with you. Without knowing the reason, or her reactions specifically, I could not suggest a solution, but do not drug your child. If need be, there are natural sleep aides, and a glass of warm milk does work.
Warm milk contains an amino acid that is converted into a sleep-enhancing compound in the brain.

I agree with doing the controlled crying method from the toddler taming book by Dr Green. It worked for me too.

Also eating a banana and then having a glass of warm/cool milk is supposed to release certain chemicals together in the brain to induce better sleep.
Worth a shot!!

Have you tried Ferberizing her? Worked with ours. She cried for 2 hours the first night, 30 mins the second, and 1 the third. Never had a problem with her sleeping through the night again.
