Two questions about glutamic acid in the economics section in two days. What's going on?

In any case, the answer is ambiguous. The FDA says MSG (aka monosodium glutamate) is essentially safe for almost everyone (the except asthmatics and the allergic)

While others say it is an addictive poison that leads to obesity and all of health problems (which clearly would have significant economic impact)

Everyone agrees that it stimulates appetite and so gets people to eat more of what they would otherwise find less tasty. This too clearly has economic impact (think about stimulating demand for processed foods, etc.), especially considering its prevalence in such foods.
