you miss your friends and family and loved one on Christmas...the ones that are not with you...like back in Lebanon (for those abroad) or those who have passed to the next life.

Personaly, it's hard for me this time of the year...especially this Christmas, my Mom is away in another country...I think this is the lonliest Christmas ever

Yes, come Christmas we miss the family in Lebanon a lot. We had big family parties and they still do without us.

On top my son this year is also on the other end of the world.

But, as they say: such is life.

Of course, never forget that you are part of this big family here and if you need a substitute mama I can ..cough...be your...cough.. cough... mama.

Since I came to USA and I had 2 or 3 Christmas with the family, basically I am used to stay alone, or with friend on Christmas. The family lives apart every one in different state, beside my sister who still in Lebanon.

Yes....I miss them..
Unfortunatelly 2 of my direct loved ones arent with us anymore...(my dad and my brother) and I should give anything for them be with me!!!
Anyways....life is that way, so, we have to enjoy together and be thankful for the loved ones that are with us.
I like Christmas time very much.
As Webby and Aussie said, we got a new family here.
It's a strange thing that with all the cheaters and liers that surf the net, we have been lucky finding nice and good pple .
Although we havent ever seen each others in real, the feelings exist and WE ARE A FAMILY.
May be each of us have more affinity with someone, but that happens in all the families too.
Dont think that you are alone with ur small family (it happens the same to me), think about the big family you have in different corners of the world. Canada, Australia, Kuwait, Emirates, USA, Egypt,Lebanon, India,Uruguay, Malaysia and many others. We are lucky pple Kate..and have gotten something very important : FRIENDSHIP.. Your friends you can choose them....family, not.
You are not alone...WE are with you and YOU are with us.
LOVE YOU !!!

Now look what you've gone & done ! The old girl is coughing & spluttering & wanting to adopt YOU !

Yes , I know how you are feeling ....Christmas is the ONE time of year that we as a family & extended family , such as we have over here anyway , always get together .

It is also the time that I always think of my Dad & how proud he would be to see the grandchildren & now great grandchildren he never knew!

Kate, as Webby said , we are a family & please allow us to adopt you if only for this Christmas ...we may not be able to share with you personally but we can still offer you our love & f'ship .

Maybe volunteer in your community - that is rewarding not to mention how great it will make you feel. I empathize with you. My grandmother passed away the day before Thanksgiving and she was like my mom essentially. As it gets closer to Christmas I miss her and cry like crazy!

Take care sweetie!

I'm sorry, I know how you feel. All my fam is in California and I'm alone in Nevada. Very sad! Just make the best of it, try to gather with friends, ok.
