I need to know what needs to be done in order to tow my broken down ford f-250 home that is 4 wheel drive.

no just set it to either forward gear or neutral

If Auto trans might be a issue>Unless your tranfer case has a neutral> Call Ford and ask for sure > If manaul trans tow away>

As long as the hubs aren't locked in the axle won't be turning. Just make sure the transmission not the transfer is in neutral.

Some Pontiac Vibes have all wheel drive. Subaru Outback is also a good choice.

automatic or manual trans doesnt matter, what does is the transfer case.

If it is an automatic you do. If standard transmission no problem.
