I've seen it attempted without success.
After googling I see it is posted all over the net as a great prank but no reports whether it actually works or what causes it.
So here is my guess....
If it does work it's because the sleeper 'knows' that when the hand is put in warm water they are supposed to pee themselves, although asleep they subconsciously know what is happening and involuntarily oblige.
Probably totally wrong - but not more wrong than some of the other crud on the 'net today :-)
Or when it doesn't work the prankster becomes frustrated and tips the water onto the sleeper's crutch!

Totally works! Have done it 3 times to 2 different people... I don't know why but it does

I don't think so because i always clean my hands in warm water before bed and i didn't wet anything!!
