George W. Bush increasing the pressure of decades of foolish American foreign policy. There has always been resentment of my country meddling in the affairs of others (like Mossadegh), but to take the worldwide goodwill we had after 9/11 and use it for evil means sealed the deal. I remember President Khatami and hundreds of thousands of people in Iran holding candles to honor the dead after 9/11. Even Fidel Castro send heartfelt condolences.
So, what did Bush do? Invade Iraq, infuriate Turkey, increase the problem of the restless Kurds from Mahabad to Syria and treat other world leaders with disdain.
Khatami helped us in Afghanistan. He sent letters to Bush offering to end our longstanding enmity. Bush ignored the peace offering.
That's just one country. He backed a coup in Venezuela (where Manuchur Farmanfarmian retired), only to see Hugo Chavez restored to power, continually slapping Bush in the face. We have only one ally remaining in South America, that being Colombia because they want our aid money.
Urging Israel to attack Lebanon was another recent folly for Bush. Oh, he has done so much to hurt my country!

There is no such thing as Anti Americanism globally. There are some, which came from the propaganda which the former communist bloc campaigned for decades. And some radicals nowadays, which germinated from, Americas own foreign policies. Current ex: Pakistan, after a while the now pet nation of US will show its true colors.

There will always be some of that promoted by leaders of other countries whop need to "create" a phantom enemy to keep their people in line. But in today's environment, it is DEFINITELY the fault of Bush. Everything from his warlike, cowboy actions to his refusal to cooperate with the world via things like the UN and Kyoto to his mangling of the English language. They all combine to make others disrespect, sometimes despise, America.

Those who would undermine the Constitution, international conspiracies, greedy Americans, those who see us as a threat, and people who believe that other systems of government are better.
Winston Churchill, whose mother was an American, said, "Democracy is a particularly bad form of government, until you consider the alternatives."

Basically our history of meddling in other countries has been our biggest fault. Our arrogance and militant defense of American Interests (read that as big business) has made us feared, hated, despised, and sorriest of all, envied. The meddling started the ball rolling; ignorance, radical religions, and the "industrial Military Complex" ( I think I got that right, the guys who make money selling weapons) gave it speed and nows its pretty much a free-flowing emotion the world over. The Age of America as The superpower has peaked. God Bless America. I left becuase of the predatory capitalism and unresponsive and irresponsible governement, but I still love her so.

Personally, I think it's a combination of the behavior of the current American government and people who actually KNOW very little about America or Americans, other than what they see on TV or in movies. Also, I find one surprising thing in Europe. There is more than a little propaganda against America and what is perceived as the American lifestyle. As an American now living in Europe, I surprised at the misconceptions of how Americans live I've found here.

For people who have reasonable (definitely it's debateable as to what is and isn't reasonable) gripes about America-it's Americans that are responsible. As for unreasonable or ridiculous complaints (again, that's up for debate) then it probably springs from a host of other things.

Stupid Americans that don't care about history and only worry about Pop Culture and tabloids. Those same stupid people either don't vote for the righteous politicians or let someone do the thinking for them and vote for the Clintons/Bushes of the world, IOW, DYNASTY.
The rest of the world resents us for getting involved in their affairs, sort of like me deciding to just set up a tent in your back yard without your permission or sleeping at your house when you simply invited me for dinner.
This is what Ron Paul refers to as "Blowback".
We need to be informed and make friends with everyone. If someone (country) acts like a jerk to you, then you have other friends (allies) to back you up.
This interview is a good example, just type in "Ron Paul in Los Angeles California Part 1" on UTube to see the whole point.
