I used to have one of those keyboard/flute toy intruments from the sony advert when I was a child, now my daughter would like one, I have searched the shops high street and online but no luck, maybe if I had the name I could search it, please help.

I think they are called 'mellodiums'. I'm not 100% but hope this helps.

Edit: I'm a klutz - 'twisted' is correct - melodica - you'll find several on ebay.

A melodica.
Basically, you blow air into the tube and then the keys make a sound - they're soooo easy and fun to play.
Most music shops sell them, you shouldn't have any worries finding one.

Not entirely certain, but it sounds like you are describing a melodica. Hohner make them.
