NO!! no matter how many wars we would go, no matter how polluted it becomes and no matter how many asteriod will hit us
...the world would not end... it would continue living.
wounded but it will survive like it has always survived...through evolution.
OUR LIVES ON EARTH WILL END. once we die... we cease to exist in this world thus it is the end of our world.
my grandmother used to be so paranoid..that it was the end of the world. there was no use in buying a house and other stuff...since it would end once the 70's came... she prayed everday but nothing happened in the 70's.
then on 1999 i remembered people kept saying it was the end of the world...but it didn't end... we are still here.
the world will still be here...even if we died.

Hi,
After the WW1 we had WW2, after WW2 we had the Cold War. This so called Cold War, was made up of many regional conflicts around the world were the major powers poured in money and military hardware resources, plus also manpower though various means to fight these proxy wars. These wars were often refereed to as hot-spots, but used as a way of stopping the Cold War going Hot. With the break up of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact, some say that WW3 is over, which means we must now wait for WW4.
Will WW4 be Putin's Russia, the Mullah's and Islam or Sino with the Chinese?
My bet will be Putin stirring up trouble through the Mullahs in Iran with the overflow into Iraq and Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Let us hope that the main trouble can be kept regional, although terrorism will probably export hot-spots, to the rest of the Western World unfortunately.

The likely scenario will go like this: China will invade Russia, the Middle East, Africa, and Antarctica to preemptively take away the world's oil reserves from the rest of the world's population. If the Russians don't nuke them others surely can and most probably will. The price of one human life will be less than one jerry can of unleaded. General strive and chaos exacerbated by crazed fundamentalists of all known and unknown -isms will tear social nets and infrastructures to shreds. Sequence and turnout of these happenings cannot be known in advance, but when they happen earth's development of the last four hundred thousand years will be pulverized. Prepare for reincarnation on a far away (read: uncontaminated) planet while stacking up on canned food, gas, and ammo to guarantee for a flashy transition. The world's leaders are politicians and politicians have never been known to be the solution to a problem, they simply are the result of a whole bunch of problems that - with all the politicians' help - keep growing. Saint Leibowitz, here we go again! To answer your question: WWIII will be the end of the world as we know it but after a hundred thousand years humanity will be at it again.

Men have been hell bent for genocide ever since recorded time. Technology improved to enable larger scale events. Technology is shared, stolen, however obtained. Eventually, the rich remain in control. Some of the powerful ones are wise, some crazy, some are idiot savants. Those are the people to fear.
Men in general have stopped becoming creative, we in America have become lazy, accustomed to a grocery store, gas stations, community charters, laws and regulations.
We cannot possibly survive a major event of global climate change, which I may add, will be the eventual demise of life as you know it today.
Several factors have come to light and your future is bleak, my friend.
Global Warming is not only caused by factories, automobiles, and all of that other hype you have been hearing about. Although those green house gasses are not good for us, they are not the sole cause. There is not fix for it, electric cars or not.
The gallactic solstice is upon us. In just 5 short years, you will wittness an event greater than any atomic warhead. Greater than Hurricane Andrew and Katrina put together. When our home planet rotates 180 degrees on it's axis and the magnic force of the fabric of life is reversed, then you will see genocide.
We are at war now. Is it ww3?? On a global scale, I would say yes. The battle rages on a global scale on every continent and in every land.
Where will you be in 2014...

In 1982, a man named Jonathan Schell wrote a book entitled The Fate of the Earth (ISBN 0-394-52559-0). If memory serves, he argued that a nuclear war with the use of a significant number of nuclear warheads would bring about "nuclear winter" and that would bring about the functional end of the world.
On the other hand, there are those who argue that the science behind the argument for "nuclear winter" is faulty and politically motivated; See "Nuclear winter: science and politics" by Brian Martin who points out counter arguments to "nuclear winter".
Either way, "nuclear winter" or not, a World War III would not-to say the least-make for a "nice day."
I hope this answers your question to some degree.
Best wishes to you and hoping there is never a World War III,

When people talk about 'the end of the world' they actually mean the end of the human race. The world. as a planet, will still continue, even if man is not a part of it. It may be even better without all the damage man does to the planet, after all we've only been part of it for a few thousand years and just look at the mess we've made of it in the last century.

Thats an interesting question, but what constitues a "World War"? The whole world doesn't have to get involved. Many countries were not involved in the previous two. Is the criteria 20 countries? 30 countries? I think the name of the war is bestowed by the media.
Many believe the battle of Armageddon will be the final war. That is prophesized in the Bible. (Revelation 16).
Even that is not the end of the world. That is just the final war before Christ will return. That may also be WWIII

I really doubt it. During the cold war, the US and USSR kept increasing the amount of military as a threat, not with the intent of ever using what was produced. The only reason the cold war ended was because the US bankrupted the USSR, they didn't have the economy to continue producing military weapons. Now, sure, we are faced with threats from China, North Korea and a few rogue Middle Eastern countries (Iraq is not one of them, trust me, I just returned from spending 15 months there, and if Iraq continues on its present course, it will never be considered a World War. It could be a catalyst if it causes direct hostilities between Iran, which would possibly draw in Russia, etc.)
But to get back to the real question of whether WWIII would be the end of the world, no, war is changing and nuclear weapons are and have been used as a deterrent, not as a weapon. It's all about precision strike and insurgents, not nukes and nukes are about the only was war could end the world.

OK there will be a 3rd war between America and China/Russia, Britain is still rebuilding and the other countries will not help because of bush. This is my theory. 1) Russia and china is way too big. 2) America is way to busy trying to keep a good economy and staying in war . 3) 70% are hicks who want to blow something up and unless its not under the Christian god oh no it has to go.lastly we still have racists in America but its hush-hushed and brushed under the carpet so wile we are thinking about making the border walls taller and letting the oil companies get richer. I would consider learning Russian and Chinese :D lol
oh yeah computers control everything even the doors in prisons and lol everything is made in china ROFL

firstly, there won't be a 3rd world war.
since this happens to be a dangerous age for a world war, nuclear science age, if 3rd world war starts, the reliable authorities theorized that at least half of the world's population will be decimated and the chemicals from the nuclear weapons will render the earth into almost uninhabitable for the survivors...
which is why all world leaders go out of their ways NEVER to start a 3rd world war.
