over hyped. honestly, the world has had temp fluctuations (spelling?) b4 and it will in the future, too. no big deal.

No matter what one believes is the cause, it is quite seriously happening. It's not just a matter of it getting hotter. The weather will be violent and unpredictable all over the planet, and will cause massive climate changes. Superstorms are inevitable. Once the salt level drops in the ocean (due to polar ice melt), it will completely destablize the air current, gulf stream, and all common seasonal weather patterns. We can take drastic measures to slow it down, but it's coming. Remember the hubbub about the wooly mammoth that was found frozen solid with undigested tropical grasses in its stomach? It's happened before, and it will happen again.

Somewhere in the middle. It is quite a major problem but drastic steps do not need to be taken as I am typing these words. It will definitely help if there is improvements for the environment but the world is not doomed for quite some time so we just have to take the situation calmly and sensibly rather than panicking about and saying that the end is near. A balance is required and leveled thinking about it.

Global warming is for real, I think that much should be obvious.
Even if global warming is somehow not caused by humans, I still think it's a good practice to reduce emissions and fossil fuel consumption. Air quality is noticeably affected at the very least. Overall, I think it is serious.

Over-hyped? Take a hard look again at the Asian Tusnami of 2003, Katrina in 2005 and in 2007--the mass flooding of the UK, droughts striking upper Georgia and Tennessee....and that scary NASA satellite loop, showing how much North ploar ice has evaporated!!
WWIII has been waged by Mother Nature--and ALL techonologically advanced nations and their corporate entities fast better put aside their objections and differences---and find effective ways NOW to show Mother Nature she CAN be challenged and defeated.
To the conquerors, take pause to this fact: You can't rule a world destroyed by natural disasters, because NO one will survive to be ruled. All one's infinite wealth cannot have them escape to a new Earth or find safe sanctuary apart from the suffering survivors.....because NO one will be left to survive.
We must construct engineering epic marvels, machines that can cool the oceanic surfaces and re-direct stray currents to where they're needed.
We must find ways to channel moisture and "harvest" ice back where it belongs, ALL high rise buildings on the planet should take "going green" a step further by covering their roofs w/ grassy fields and even trees, which can naturally become the "CO2 scrubber" needed to clean up the "greenhouse gas effects".
And if we now have machines that can take sewage and produce clean, pure, safe drinking water from it---then why not build on behemoth scales water pumping stations that can draw ocean saltwater, convert it to fresh water---and have it direct pumped to all major U.S. cities and aquaducts across America and the world.
Hey: I realize my ideas may sound out there---but they're better than tossing up our arms and resign to the idea there's NOTHING we can do. I say to all: Fire up your ideas---somebody's GOT to have some working solutions.
And we don't just have Mom Nature to deal with; what's the latest on that asteroid that's due to hit Earth 20 or so years from now??? Any ideas on how we can stop THAT from hitting us????
No idea is a stupid one!!!!
We need action NOW--not 10 or 25 years from now!!

Seroious!
Every year the temperature has gone up, and it sucks! I'm like, a hippie child so I do as much as I can for the environment and I definately say that global warming is a serious matter that people don't take seriously enough.

Serious. Track temperature with regard to the industrial revolution, the clean air act, and other times of industrial growth and decline. You will find when industry grows, so does temperature, when industry declines, so does temperature.
