I love Paul Potts....even though I am not big on opera, HE makes it sound BEAUTIFUL! The emotion he puts into his voice is incredible.
Oh, yes...he deserved to win. And he deserves to have a world career for as long as his voice lasts (and I hope like Pavarotti that he will "go down" singing!). His voice is just as good as anyone else who is a world class singer.
And thanks, I think I WILL go and listen to him again! And when he cuts his first album, I will buy that too!!
Edit...I have just spent a most enjoyable 25 minutes listening to and viewing all the tapes available of Paul Potts. And I see that his debut album IS NOW available throughout Europe and North America. I am going to have to make sure I get out this weekend to buy myself a copy!

I saw him on you tube a month or two ago and thought he was great. I never saw that look on Simon's face before. Paul Potts does have a CD out; I got mine at Target a few weeks ago.

I saw him on TV and he made the hairs on the back of my head stand up. I was just standing there with my mouth open in awe. He has the most beautiful voice. And he has had no fomal training. I think we will be hearing a lot from him. And he is humble to boot. I wish him well.

I think he is wonderful. A poor working class guy, with real talent, Has he had his teeth done now? I watched him today on the T.V. and I was sure he had a broken front tooth, but he didn't today! I must admit though, I am getting sick of hearing Nessan Dorma, It's really getting on my nerves!!!

He is fabulous! I think I had the same expression on my face that the audience did. I had my husband listen to him, and within a week he had purchased the CD.

To me what makes his voice the best I have ever heard is the way it stimulates the emotions and response to it (from me as well as others), like none other that I have experienced!

DeeJay , thankyou so much for this link. I watched it all and what a deserving young man. It was wonderful and I thought I hated opera.
Simon Cowell has redeemed himself, I thought he was always hard hearted but I realize now he is just impatient with wannabes with no talent.

I heard him sing "Nessun Dorma" from Turnadot on TV.
I thought he was so good, I bought his CD, One Chance.
That clip from YouTube almost made me cry.

Good voice, but not really an interest of mine. I still think he looks like Jim Carey from dumb and dumber... because of his broken tooth... with down's.... because of his almost crossed eyes. He's got a great voice, don't get all bent out of shape. Celine Dione looks like a horse, etc... life can be funny people. No need for cold surgical seriousness here I think.
