Where can I design things without a degree?

I have a medical career, but I have a passion for mechanical and other design. I have sketch books full of great inventions and improvements to current designs for everything you can think of. I really want to see some of this stuff go to market but don't know where to start. If I see something, I can improve anything on paper. Independent investors, patent attorneys looking for artist/designers?.... any ideas?

Get your stuff patented first. Then go to the investors.

Talent is always more appreciated than a degree though.... in mechanics you will need a degree.
