If you're a guy... feared.
If you're a girl... loved.
If you're me... loved and feared! (I'm not implying that I'm a guy and a girl though lol)

Feared. People will try to take advantage of you otherwise.
People never fear a loved person, but they often love a feared person.

Depends on what outcome you want.
If it's power than being feared is better. People have no problem these days betraying someone they love. Fearing for their own welfare, however, seems to motivate them to stay loyal longer.
