Gawdess,
You cannot question gods and goddesses' rights. I know, it is tough, but "As flies to wanton boys, are we to the gods.
They kill us for their sport" (King Lear).

Neither God, nor Goddess, nor the Mortal Women who are the ones who say it most often.
The Old Time Druids knew what to do about it too. When the Miletians came to the island they would rename Eire, the Gods of the Land demanded the blood of men upon their altars. Many complied. But the Druids said unto these cruel Gods:
"There will be no more Blood upon your altars,
Which the Now We overthrow,
Unto the 7th Generation, men will curse your names
And then they will be forever forgotten."
And of the Gods that were, only the name of Crom the Crooked remains and that as a warning.
Then they called forth from Tir Na Og the Tuatha De Danaan, whom the Miletians had defeated in battle and raised them up as Gods. This they did in the knowledge that those once beaten in battle, however mighty, could be defeated again at need.
Not much you can do about women, save for loving them anyway.

I think you are in error when you state that Jesus has "no problem" with people suffering eternal damnation. If he had no problem with people going to hell then he would not have left heaven and all the privilege and status he had there to come to earth as a man to suffer here and be killed. His whole point in dying on the cross was to provide a way to save people from the very eternal damnation that you accuse him of not caring about. When was the last time you cared enough about someone else's plight in life to offer your own life as a solution? If that doesn't constitute caring then I'm not sure what would qualify from your perspective. Another mistake people make when they try to judge God by human standards is forgetting that God is both perfect love and perfect justice. By only taking the love nature of God into account they ignore His need to be just as well and assume He should just wave a magic wand and over-ride justice in favor of love. Being both of these things He devised a way for man to be saved by offering His own son as the payment for our sins. . . thus fulfilling the justice of someone having to pay the price for sin and also fulfilling love and mercy in giving humans a chance to be saved. It's still each person's choice though which fulfills the need for free-will. Sounds like a amazing plan and pretty fair to we humans. . . more than fair really while demonstrating just how much He really does care. God is anything but a hypocrite. He loved us while we were still lost in sin and the ultimate enemies of God. He commands those who love and follow Him to do as He did. Where's the hypocrisy in that?

The marriage of mankind and the gods. One does not satisfy the other, so the divorce happens....and they marry again...and again...and again...to the same partner.
The egotism of the one, feeds the other, snowballing, building the avalanche which periodically sweeps BOTH away!
Strange egotism...we are created by gods, then condemned for our fallacies...which were created by the gods also.
The eternal spiders' web!
They do have the 'right' but are wrong for choosing to act on this 'right'.

The Constitution of any democratic country doesn't apply to gods and goddesses, nor, unfortunately to the rich and powerful of those countries. Mythology is filled with stories of injustice toward the weak and powerless. The meek inherit nothing, despite what the bible may tell us; it's just another way of keeping us in line.
