what u are seeing is the chords for the song.. also when they have that saying c# that is where the chord change is taking place in the song... those are the chords for that line of words... see all guitar-chords.com for some chords if u need..

Ok well they're not notes, they're chords for the guitar.

So each one has a different fingering and then you strum that chord for that part of the songs. So for this song you would begin strumming the chord "F sharp"

Does that make sense?

So to play with chords you have to know the songs fairly well.

for a chord, take the note, hit that it, then go 4 half steps up and hit that one for the middle note, and then go 3 half steps higher to hit the third note...

f# a# c#
c# f g#
f a c

for a minor you hit the note given, then go 2 half steps higher for the middle note, and 5 half steps higher for the third note... essentially, the a#m only changes the intonation of the middle note one half step lower so for a#m, it would be

a# c# f

The # denotes a sharp - a half note above.

Therefore F#C# (on a piano) would be the actual black notes above F & C.

Does that make sense??
