He's a murderer ! Why does he get a choice? Put him in the fire. Or, put him in the room with the assassins, they'll all kill each other, save everyone alot of trouble. As far as the lions go, not sure if they store food, but 3 years is a long time, even for an animal.
So, I guess I really didn't answer your question. sorry.

nothing is safe, of course. but i choose the second one. at least he will be shot and die at once. if he will be kept in the room with the dead lions, he will starve to death, making him suffer for more days. ( i know there'll be no way he can escape, they wont let it happen to a murderer)

the lions are presumably dead. But they could have emitted harmful gases from their decomposing bodies.
The room that is safest for him , is the room that leads to each of the three XD
