I took my 2 yr old daughter to a homeopath for sleeping difficulties and she prescribed lycopodium, but the remedy is based on a mix of water and brandy. I thought it was unusual to give alcohol to young children but she said its quite common when I brought it up. Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of homeopathic remedies or used them on their children and what results were gained. Thanks!

If you want to avoid giving your child the alcohol, put three drops of the prescribed Homeopathic Medicine in a sip of warm water swirl it for sometime the alcohol will evaporate leaving just the medicine in the water. That's the best way to administer Homeopathic Medicine or you can buy them in Pellet or Tablet form which are made onto the lactose of sugar and children love its taste plus you avoid the alcohol ingredient in all Homeopathic Medicine that way. Children respond very well to Homeopathic Medicine and get cured very quickly contrary to the morons belief that its mere placebo try making a kid understand that or animals too. Alcohol is frequently used in homeopathic remedies quite successfully. The key is to remember that it is "medicinal" and not abuse it.

Practically all homeopathy medicines are stored in alchol
and the amount is very minute. Plus the drug is also diluted.
In your daughter's case the medicine lycopodium is the
right remedy for her based on symptons you described to
the doctor. Please be rest assured that it in no way can harm
your daughter. Stop worrying and continue giving the
medicine regularly and you will see your daughter recovering
very fast. Good luck and God bless. Cheers! :o)
