your fantastic husband totally forgot about it and has been forgetting about it for the past 5 years of your marriage?

i would be pissed! mine forgot about ours this year and i threw a fit for a week or was it 3 weeks?! lol, but no i still talk about it. i would hate if he did it again this coming year... i've been in awful relationships b4 so i'm kinda a "keep it under control" girl now.

but he told me that he forgot about our anniversary this year and said that he didn't have the $$ to buy me anything... but didn't know what i would want anyways. but the week b4 he bought a dvd set for $160 for him. i feel like he got a gift and not me. :( not like him at all. before this year i got a nice diamond necklace.... what happened?! i'm sure you are wondering what's going on too? you spend a lot of your life doing for them and raise their kids and what do we get?

Well, if you've let him get away with forgetting it the past 5 years, what makes you think he's going to suddenly remember it?

I would talk with my hubby, and let him know how his forgetting your wedding anniversary makes you feel. But, what do you do for him on your wedding anniversary? Do you plan a special meal for him? Do you do anything for him that's special, so that he realizes it's a special day for you both? Then, help him remember it in the future. If he's fantastic in other ways, maybe he just doesn't remember dates very well. Nobody's perfect, don't focus on the things your husband does that bug you, focus on the good things he does that makes you feel special.

Good luck!

By the way, I thought an anniversary is about the both of you. Maybe you should be planning this together ahead of time instead of just being a money grubber and expecting a gift.

If it was up to men, there'd be 4 holidays a year, but instead, there's nearly a holiday every month of the year and birthdays to fill in the gaps. ugh!

I would feel stupid that I didn't correct him earlier in the relationship. What you nned to know that it is not as important to men. You gotta train them. Build the next one up and plan it together. as the years go on you will se the improvement

You put more importance on the date than he does. Either remind him a few days in advance (tell him you made reservations for two) or other reminders.

I would just remind him, make reservations at a nice restuarant or book a cool room with a spa. Send him flowers and candy. Tell him how much you love him.

I would feel hurt. My husband forgot my birthday last year. No gift, no Happy Birthday, no nothing....I felt like he didn't care.

I , believe if it has been already five year's , it is time you started buying , you'r own anniversary gift's. and give him the credit card recipt, and say "Thank just what I wanted.' I love you"
he is not into giving gift's, or it just keep's slipping his mind.
