Self respect and mutual respect are the keys. Certainly you can't truly love someone you don't respect. Without self respect you are more than likely seeking validation which is so easily and so often confused with love. To someone with low self esteem it's the same and this confusion isn't usually healthy.

Yes I do, I mean if you don't love yourself that means that your willing to lie to yourself which could be really bad when making decisions that have to do with relationships.
