OK - SO - just wanting to do a poll to see where everyone's babies sleep. Do you co-sleep, same room their bed, their bed in their room? I am not asking this to criticize anyone...and I surely don't want anyone else to critisize you for answering.... Just curious what you all do.... see how common each way is... ALSO - if you could just please say how old your baby is........ thanks.....

OH - i guess I could partake as well...

My 8 month old starts out sleeping in her crib in our room...and then i have gotten into the habit of getting up in my sleep when she cries and bringing her to bed with me...so, then we co-sleep. It is very nice as I breastfeed too.....

Both my kids have done some co-sleeping. My first would not sleep hardly at all in his own crib so I was quite a frazzled lack of sleep mom with 4hrs or less, even while we co-slept he woke up a lot. We would always start off in his crib and then after I was in bed we would co-sleep. He started sleeping in his own bed all night long at 5 months, but never sttn until a year ago and he is now 3 1/2 yrs old.

My baby slept in the bassinett till feeding time after I was in bed and then he would co-sleep. He was a LOT better at sleeping though and stayed swaddled and asleep longer through the night. Once he was 7m he transitioned to the crib and by that time was also sttn so there was no more co-sleeping. He is now 17m old.

I love the co-sleeping because it helps them to sleep longer and feed better.

During the night baby sleeps in her crib which is right next to my bed so I have one arm in her crib (holding her hand or resting on her tummy)
It sometimes happens when she wakes up for her 5am or 6 am feeding (she sleeps from 11pm to 5 or 6 am) that we both fall back to sleep in my bed and sleep till 8am. I am a bit ambivalent about this because I once almost rolled over her but that hasn' t happend again.
During the day and in the evening (before my husband and I go to bed) baby takes her naps in the living room, where I am, on her play blanket.
She is 12 weeks old

Well, at this time in my life my "baby" is my little toy fox terrier Ollie, who can allert me when I am going to have a seizure, and he sleeps curled up spoon-style in front of me under the covers in my bed. But I have experience raising two babies, who are now 16 and 19 y/o well adjusted young men. They both slept in the bed with me from the day I brought them home from the hospital ( I tried a bassinet with my firstborn but didn't make it through the first night, he cried so much.) So I put him in the bed cuddled up with me, and he breastfed as he pleased. I believe it was about 6 months until he transitioned to a crib when I went back to work on the graveyard shift. He slept with his dad during this transition. The same story went for my second son, though he slept with me longer, as the job I had then put me on disability for a back injury and I didn't have to work, and he needed formula as well as breastmilk he was so big and hungry (and still is). A crib never worked for him. He was over 10lbs when born and very strong, and would jump right out of his crib. So he went directly to the bottom of a bunkbed set we bought for both boys, although he would get up and and wander the house during the night.Nothing could contain him~but he's sixteen and survived. Just go by your instincts. Don't read all that Dr. Spock B.S. !!

My baby slept in the bassinet, next to our bed. I also breastfeed but I will nursed her in the rocking chair than put her back in until she was about 1 1/2mo. than we switch to a portable crib still in our room. She just turn 4months and its her second night sleeping in her own room. She started sleeping through the night without feedings at about 3 months. We put her to bed about 9:30 and wakes up about 7:30 . We are blessed with her night sleep from the beginning but we struggle with naps everyday.

Well I have a pack n play in my room but mostly I co-sleep. He sleeps the first half of the night in the pack n play second half with me. I just call it co-sleeping. The only reason I do it like that is because he goes to bed earlier than me, and I need some time to take a shower, do the dishes and answer questions.
Oh and he is almost 8 months now.

My 4 1/2 month old has been sleeping in his own crib in his own room since 5 weeks old. We found no one was getting good sleep with us all in the same room. I'd wake to everyone of his little noises and my baby snored! LOL My hubby snores and the dog snores and I just couldn't take the snoring anymore! Baby slept better too since he wasn't being disturbed by us going in and out, lights on and off etc....

He naps in his swing when we are home and in his car seat when we are out and about.

I have two children: 3 ½ daughter & 18 month son. My 18 month sleeps in his crib. When my daughter was about 18 months, she started sleeping in our bed. She will still sleep with me occasionally. Sometimes she will sleep on my floor. And sometimes I sleep in her bed with her. Where she sleeps usually depends on my husband's work schedule. If he's home, then I sleep in her bed (he snores!) and if he's not, then she sleeps in my bed. Tonight, she is sleeping down stairs on the sofa bed with my husband.

I think co-sleeping is more common than most parents want to admit. My neighbor's kids still sleep with their parents. The five year old just started sleeping in his own bed.
